Chinatown Library

The focus of Design Studio Delta was to delve into the relationship that architecture has with the context that it lives in. Specifically, how we can utilise effective spatial planning in order to improve the social, political and civic areas of the community.

The Chinatown library was created as a mental refuge that allows occupants to be freed from the hustle of the capitalist city by allowing users to be put into the present moment via key sensory experiences. The building balanced spatial requirements of a library with meditative spaces that would create moments of connection and a break for individuals within the spaces.
